    On 21 July 2021, the halibut fishing vessel "JOHN AND RONNIE", with 4 people on board, reported being struck by the bulk carrier "ZHONG MAY" off St. Paul Island in the Cabot Strait, 16 nautical miles NNE of Dingwall, NS. One crew member of the "JOHN AND RONNIE" was injured and the fishing vessel was damaged. The fishing vessel returned to Dingwall, NS under its own power. Both vessels were inspected the following day. 27 deficiencies for the "JOHN AND RONNIE" were noted by Transport Canada which had to be rectified before departure. The bulk carrier, inspected by Bureau Veritas, had 2 items that had to be rectified by 22 Sept 2021.
