Trade Lanes

A trade lane is a vessel’s departure from one port chained to its next arrival at a different port (load→discharge), counted across every tracked vessel in the window. Coverage is densest in regions with strong terrestrial tracking; the window shown reflects the history mined so far. Median time in port and median transit are measured only within that mined window, so calls and legs straddling its edges are truncated or excluded — medians at the very start and end of the window can read low. Activity momentum differences the two named months, both of which have ended and carry near-full day coverage, so a month still filling is never counted as a decline.
