Definition

The Nairobi International Convention on the Removal of Wrecks, adopted in 2007, which provides a legal basis for states to remove or have removed shipwrecks that pose a hazard to navigation or the marine environment. The convention also establishes compulsory insurance requirements for registered shipowners.
