On 29 June 2013, the cruise ship "ZUIDERDAM" reported a fire on one of its lifeboats, near Cape Lazo, Comox, B.C. The fire was extinguished and the vessel resumed its voyage.
On 18 Aug 2012, the passenger vessel "ZUIDERDAM" experienced a total blackout while switching from shore to ship's power. Power was subsequently restored.

On 18 July 2009, a crewman was crushed while opening a loading door on the passenger ship "ZUIDERDAM" while alongside at Canada Place in Vancouver Harbour, B.C. The crewman was taken ashore to hospital.
