On 06 May 2025, the fishing vessel "KIRKELLA", with 29 people on board, reported having experienced a total blackout and loss of propulsion after leaving the pilot station off St. John's Harbour, NL. The pilots re-boarded and the propulsion was restored before the vessel proceeded away from the shore. The crew effected repairs adrift and the vessel resumed its voyage.
