The M/V "SCOTIA PRINCE" was reported to have made contact with the harbour's bottom while departing Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, damaging and breaching a double bottom fuel tank. Hull repairs have since been carried out.
On 13 June 1999 it was reported that the "Scotia Prince" ran over a buoy.
Ferry in-bound to Yarmouth at slow speed in narrow channel when fishing vessel reportedly crossed ahead from port to starboard at 1 cable distance. Ferry forced to go full astern to avoid collision. Steering was lost and ferry almost ran aground.
