Murat is the mind behind The Maritime's intelligence layer. A philosopher and psychologist by training and an economist and engineer by practice, he designs the models and the machinery that turn scattered signals from the world's fleets, ports and markets into a single, decisive picture.

His path to shipping ran through the study of how people think and how markets misbehave. He read Philosophy and Psychology as an undergraduate, then earned master's degrees in Clinical Psychology and in Behavioral Economics: an unusual pairing that treats a market not as an equation to be solved but as a crowd of decisions to be understood.

Before The Maritime he worked in some of the most demanding rooms in global business, at Netflix, McKinsey, Microsoft, Tesco and BCG, moving between roles as a software engineer, data analyst, economist and digital strategist. The constant was never the title. It was a single question, asked across a dozen industries: what is actually happening here, and what will people do next?

He is the founder of Stochastic Minds, a data, AI and strategy practice built on one conviction. Markets are stochastic; decisions are behavioral; the honest answer to a high-stakes question is a probability, not a promise. Under Product Philosophy he writes a growing body of essays on behavioral economics, marketing engineering and the quantitative craft of decision-making, for practitioners who distrust easy answers.

At The Maritime, that worldview becomes infrastructure. As Chief Intelligence Officer he builds the econometrics, the machine-learning systems and the data architecture beneath the platform: the layer the industry’s decisions can stand on. The philosophy, in the end, is in the code.

Most strategies fail because they assume a world that doesn't exist.
