Four-Stroke Engine

A type of internal combustion engine that completes a power cycle in four strokes of the piston (two revolutions of the crankshaft). In maritime applications, four-stroke medium-speed diesel engines are commonly used as main engines on smaller vessels and as auxiliary engines and generators on larger ships.
