  • INTENTIONAL BEACHING/GROUNDING/ANCHORING to avoid occurrenceMinor
Dec 25, 2018Petite-Rivière-Saint-François, QC., QUEBEC (QC)

On 25 December 2018, the general cargo vessel "SENJA" reported sea suctions blockage by ice on the Saint-Lawrence River off Petite-Rivière-Saint-François, QC and had to anchor. The crew cleaned the sea strainers, made adjustments to the cooling systems and the vessel resumed its voyage.

  • TOTAL FAILURE OF ANY MACHINERY OR TECHNICAL SYSTEMMinor
Nov 29, 2018Les Escoumins, QC, QUEBEC (QC)

On 29 November 2018, the general cargo vessel "SENJA", under the conduct of a pilot, reported a machinery failure causing a partial loss of main engine power at the Les Escoumins pilot station. After picking up a second pilot the vessel continued at reduced speed to Sorel, QC, where repairs will be made.

Recorded marine occurrences naming this vessel.

A coverage-weighted blend of the 2 components we could read for this hull — the weights renormalise over only the components present, so a thin read is never inflated and a hull is never credited a “safe 0” for a signal it has no row for. This headline is flagged low-confidence (a thin or structural-only read) and should not be treated as a verdict. Higher means riskier. Derived in-house from government-open port-State-control, flag, sanctions and our own vessel data; weight it by the coverage above.
