On 19 January 2018, the fishing vessel "NEWFOUND PIONEER", with 27 people on board, reported being disabled with a fouled propeller 100 nautical miles NE of Nain, NL. The vessel was subsequently towed to port by the tug "BEVERLY M-1".
On 25 May 2014, the F/V "NEWFOUND PIONEER", was reported aground outside the Frederikshavn, Denmark harbour. The F/V was subsequently towed off the soft bottom and returned to port under its own power. No injuries or pollution reported.
On 20 November 2010, the F/V "NEWFOUND PIONEER" with 26 POB suffered a major freon leak in the engine room which resulted in a lost of propulsive power. Leak was isolated, the engine room was ventilated and the main engine restarted.
On 15 September 2010, the F/V "NEWFOUND PIONEER" with 26 POB reported that a crew member suffered a neck injury when he fell and struck his head, east of St. Anthony, Newfoundland. Crew member was subsequently medivaced ashore for treatment.
