On 14 June 2024, the Canadian Coast Guard Ship "JOHN P. TULLY" reported having sustained a total failure of one of its engine's transmission in Quatsino Sound, BC. The vessel proceeded to an anchorage in Port San Juan, BC to assess the issue.
On 22 July 2022, the Canadian Coast Guard Ship "JOHN P. TULLY" reported a port main engine control failure in Portland Inlet, BC. With the ship's starboard main engine as fully functional, the crew attempted to affect repairs. The vessel later returned to Sidney, BC.
