On 09 January 2017, the service ship "GEORGE R. PEARKES" reported a deckhand fell overboard from the barge that was retrieving buoys in Pacquet harbor, NL. He was retrieved 15 to 20 seconds after falling in the water and did not suffer any injuries. The barge returned to the ship where the deckhand changed into dry clothes, was checked by the rescue specialist, and later returned to work.
