At approximately 0431 eastern standard time on 17 December 2008, in darkness and reduced visibility due to snow, the upbound bulk carrier Québecois and the downbound bulk carrier Capt. Henry Jackman collided during a meeting situation in the Beauharnois Canal, near the port of Valleyfield, Quebec. Both vessels were able to proceed to their respective destinations. No injuries, structural damage, or pollution were reported
On 15 June 2001, at 2320, the downbound sailing vessel "J.SEEYA" collided with the upbound bulk carrier "QUEBECOIS" in the shipping lane, near Traverse Shoal. The severly damaged S/V was able to reach Kingston,Ont. No damage to bulk carrier.
Smoke was observed by the wheelhouse watch on the starboard side of the boat deck at 1208. Burning refuse from a garbage incinerator on the boat deck, aft, set the shore cable and reel on fire. The G/A was sounded and the fire was put out.
On departure the vessel "QUEBECOIS" struck the "BESKIDY" moored in Port-Cartier harbour. No damage.
